MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko cast his vote in the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 17 November, BelTA has learned.
The head of state cast his ballot at polling station No.506 of Starovilensky constituency No.105 of the Tsentralny District of Minsk, located at the Belarusian State University of Physical Education.
Lukashenko pledges support to proactive MPs
“This is a very serious practical issue for me. I have never concealed that we will support certain proactive people who will work in this parliament,” the head of state said.
Possible amendments to Constitution submitted to Belarus president
“I have said that we need to make steps in this direction. It would be silly from me to say that we will change the Constitution by the presidential election,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “Elements of the new Constitution from the point of view of the Constitutional Court have been submitted to me.”
Lukashenko plans to visit Latvia in H1 2020
According to the Belarusian head of state, the preparations for the visit are underway. He added that he is looking forward to visiting Latvia. The trip, however, needs to be well prepared to bring benefits, he said.
Lukashenko comments on provocations at Belarus' parliamentary elections
After the elections are over, we will look into these cases, the head of state said. He emphasized that he gave instructions to prevent and disrupt provocations.
Lukashenko: No document conflicting with Constitution will be signed with Russia
Speaking about documents on promoting integration with Russia, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that if any of such documents is incompatible with the Belarusian Constitution, it will not be signed.
Lukashenko on election 2020: I am not holding to the post, yet will offer my candidacy
According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, he is not holding to this post but believes it is right to offer his candidacy when people will be making their choice.
Six candidates are standing in the election race within the constituency.
