Belarus' academic staff promised higher salaries in next five-year period

MINSK, 29 June (BelTA) – Salaries of the academic staff will be raised to make 150% of the current average salary in Belarus in the next five-year period, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with prominent Belarusian pedagogues on 29 June, BelTA has learned.

“Undoubtedly, all achievements of the public education were possible thanks to you. We remember and value this and try to support you in any way, including financially. We have started gradually increasing salaries of the academic staff. In the course of the next five-year period, we will make sure to bring them up to 150% of the current average salary in the country,” the president said.
