BBC asked to back election fraud allegations in Belarus with facts

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko responded to the allegations of the latest presidential election being illegitimate as he spoke at the big press conference, BelTA informs.

“You speak about fair elections. It's neither for you nor for America to talk about it. You have shown an example of how to hold elections ‘properly'. It was a total shame. You are saying that the election in Belarus was unfair. Then put the facts on the table and we will look into them right away. What is the basis for your allegations of the election being unfair?” the head of state said as he answered a question of a BBC journalist.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the opposition determined the election results two months before the voting day as it promoted the 3% slogan in the Belarusian society.

“Is it legitimate and fair?” the Belarusian leader wondered.
