MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – Aleksandr Subbotin was appointed Belarus' Deputy Prime Minister. A corresponding personnel decision was made by Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 4 June, BelTA informs.
“First of all, Subbotin is a smart and qualified person, a doctor of sciences. But the main thing is that he worked in Russia, in integration associations [he was a member of the board (minister) for industry and agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission]. He knows Russia, internal processes, and the behind-the-scenes struggles in these integration associations. Given the vice premiers will be, first of all, in charge of export, and Russia is our main partner, his contacts there will be very useful,” the president said about the new vice premier.
