Aleksandr Kovalev named Belshina director general

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko approved the appointment of Aleksandr Kovalev Director General of the Belarusian tire maker Belshina as he made personnel decisions on 27 March, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Lukashenko asked about the situation at Belshina.

“Tires sell relatively well. We have a certain increase in stockpiles. But it is an issue of seasonal demand and the super giant tire segment. You are well aware of the recent problem. Currently we are trying to solve it by creating a new distribution network in this segment. With this effort in mind the company's specialists are already visiting the Russian mining companies in Kuzbass. Eight meetings are scheduled for this week. We are doing our best to re-contract for this particular product. Most of the consumers were contracted through a Russian dealer,” Aleksandr Kovalev said.

Aleksandr Kovalev previously held the position of Deputy Chief Engineer for Technical Development at Belshina.

The head of state also approved the appointment of the heads of two more enterprises: Igor Sysoi was named Director General of Baranovichi Production Cotton Association and Sergei Soglaev - Director General of Dolomit Company.
