
MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) - The relations between Belarus and Azerbaijan will continue developing. Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko expressed confidence in this as he spoke at a concert to mark the 100th birthday of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev. The concert took place in the Belarusian State Philharmonic Hall on 29 April, BelTA has learned.
Igor Petrishenko emphasized Heydar Aliyev's great role in the life of the Azerbaijani people. He stressed that Belarus also appreciated this Azerbaijani politician, who had greatly contributed to the foundation of friendship with the country. “We appreciate what has been done,” Igor Petrishenko said.
According to the deputy prime minister, Heydar Aliyev's course for effective development of Azerbaijan continues to be consistently pursued by current President Ilham Aliyev.
Igor Petrishenko stressed that the vector of all-round Belarusian-Azerbaijani interaction has now been set by the leaders of the two states – Aleksandr Lukashenko and Ilham Aliyev.
“Belarus and Azerbaijan have no closed topics,” the deputy prime minister said, expressing confidence in the great prospects for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
