Union State High Level Group to hold video conference on 5 June

MOSCOW, 2 June (BelTA) - The High Level Group of the Council of Ministers of the Belarus-Russia Union State is set to hold a video conference on 5 June, BelTA learned from the Standing Committee of the Union State.

“The agenda of the meeting includes a number of issues related to the topical aspects of the Belarusian-Russian relations. Plans are in place to consider the issues of trade and economic cooperation that concern public (municipal) procurement, elimination of technical barriers for Belarusian enterprises in accreditation on electronic trading platforms in Russia for the purpose of participating in procurement procedures, restriction of access of radio electronic products manufactured in Belarus to public (municipal) procurement in Russia,” the Standing Committee said.

As for the agro-industrial sector, participants in the meeting will touch upon Russian pig product supplies to Belarus and Belarusian fruit and vegetable supplies to Russia. One of the issues high on the agenda is the transit of Belarusian goods through Russia to clients in other states of the Eurasian Economic Union.

“As part of Resolution No.3 of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of 30 June 2017, the parties will hear out reports on the progress in canceling roaming charges in the Union State. In order to coordinate the work on the preparation and holding this year's meetings of the Supreme State Council of the Union State it is planned to consider draft agendas for regular meetings of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council of the Union State,” the Standing Committee said.

The meeting will be presided by the High-Level Group co-chairs: Belarus Ambassador of to Russia vested with the powers of the deputy prime minister Vladimir Semashko and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksei Overchuk. The meeting will be attended by State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, Russian Ambassador to Belarus Dmitry Mezentsev, heads of Belarusian and Russian ministries, and representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
