MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) - UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sets great store by Belarus' efforts to strengthen security in the region and the world. He made this statement as he met with Permanent Representative of Belarus to the UN Valentin Rybakov in the UN headquarters in New York, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
During the meeting the parties discussed the preparation for the High-Level International Conference “Combating terrorism through innovative approaches and the use of new and emerging technologies” and the participation of the UN secretary-general in the conference. The event is organized by Belarus and the UN and will be held in Minsk on 3-4 September 2019.
“The parties also exchanged views on the most pressing issues in the field of international relations, as well as on the state and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the UN,” the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus informed.
