MOSCOW, 25 May (BelTA) - The primary task of the Eurasian Economic Union is to form a single truly barrier-free market, Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Moscow on 25 May, BelTA has learned.
According to the Kazakhstan president, the primary task of the EAEU is to form a single truly barrier-free market and ensure barrier-free transit of goods to third countries.
"The full achievement of these goals should be the key area of work for governments and the Eurasian Economic Commission," he stressed. “We need a full-fledged, systemic internal market of the union. Only in this case, the national business and foreign partners will fully believe in the potential of the union."
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also considers it important to develop the institution of observers at the EAEU and involve these countries in joint cooperation and infrastructure projects. "I think our partners will be especially interested in cooperation in energy, agriculture, transport and logistics," he said.
Another area requiring accelerated development is the manufacturing sector, the Kazakhstan president believes. "We have launched a number of multilateral cooperation projects and interstate programs," the head of state said. "The world and competitors do not stand still, so we need to pool our forces."
