MOSCOW, 30 March (BelTA) – A solemn assembly Union State: Opening New Opportunities will be held in Minsk and Moscow in a mixed format (online and offline) to celebrate the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia on 2 April, the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia told BelTA.
The format has been determined by existing restrictions meant to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection, the organizers said.
An official part of the solemn assembly will be followed by expert discussions that will focus on “Single legal space, defense, and security as the foundation of the Union State”, “Economic potential of the Union State: State and development prospects”, “Social projects and youth as a resource of innovative development of the Union State”.
State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Dmitry Mezentsev, representatives of Belarusian and Russian government agencies, prominent public and political figures of the two countries, representatives of the expert community and mass media are expected to participate in the solemn assembly.
