Senator: “Peaceful protesters” have no intention of seeking a constructive solution

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – “Peaceful protesters” have no intention of seeking a constructive solution, they do not need a dialogue with the authorities, BelTA learned from Yelena Zyablikova, a member of the Economy, Budget, and Finance Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus.

The senator said: “It is difficult to explain the events going on in our country at present. The opposition-minded citizens don't hear us. It is very easy to shout that everything is bad in Belarus but they cannot explain what exactly is bad. Emotions and hysterics are the fate of the weak, who have nothing to say to the nation. Unfortunately, the so-called peaceful protesters have no intention of seeking a constructive solution. They do not need a dialogue with the authorities.”

In her words, people are already tired of the protests no one needs. “People can no longer calmly walk along the street or in the park. Parents are concerned about their kids, who are pulled into political games. We want to live in beautiful and accomplished populated localities instead of places with broken pavements and benches, with obscenities written on buildings and structures. The protesters destroy work of many people. Certainly, it is easier to break things than build them. It is time to put a stop to this mess. This is why we are ready to meet, talk, and make the decisions that will ensure the stable development of Belarus, a peaceful life, decisions that will allow us to build a country where our kids will live a happy life,” the senator noted.

Yelena Zyablikova reminded that dialogue platforms had been established all over the country where absolutely anyone can express their opinions and submit proposals. “I will participate in such a dialogue platform on 22 October to meet with representatives of the youth of the Borisov District agribusiness complex. A dialogue platform with representatives of various public organizations of the district will be held on 23 October where there will be an opportunity to express proposals that will benefit our country. We will be able to hear each other this way,” she concluded.
