MOSCOW, 18 January (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Vladimir Semashko has met with heads of Russian media outlets at TASS' Chief Editors Club, BelTA learned from the press service of the diplomatic mission.
“Top on the agenda were cooperation prospects, both in the bilateral format and within the framework of the integration associations. Vladimir Semashko told the club members about economic situation in Belarus and developments in Belarus-Russia relations in trade, economy, social and political field and the way mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia can help address the tasks facing the two countries,” the embassy noted.
The Belarusian ambassador also met with TASS Director General Sergei Mikhailov and TASS First Deputy Director General Mikhail Gusman.
The Chief Editors Club is a project of the TASS Russian news agency. It consists of heads and editors-in-chief of Russia's biggest mass media outlets. The project is one of the leading communication platforms that brings together Russia's media leaders and representatives of the political and business elite. The club invites decision-makers from around the world, politicians and public figures from Russia and abroad. This format allows heads of Russia's federal media outlets to get first-hand information about social, political and economic developments in another state, and opinion about bilateral and multilateral interstate relations.
“The event is held off the record. Details of the meeting are not to be publicly disclosed,” the diplomatic mission noted.
