SDG achievement by Belarus amid sanctions discussed in Ministry of Foreign Affairs

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – As the secretariat of the national coordinator for reaching the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has hosted a session of the Council for Sustainable Development chaired by the national coordinator Anatoly Isachenko, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.

The offline meeting gathered international partners, representatives of government agencies and organizations, top government officials from Minsk and the regions, representatives of the parliament and public associations.

Participants of the session discussed the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and raised the problem of the negative influence of unilateral coercive measures employed by Western countries on Belarus' efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and ensure the stable development of the state.

According to international organizations, at present Belarus' progress in reaching the Sustainable Development Goals is close to 79%. Belarus is ranked 24th out of 165 countries in the Sustainable Development Index.
