MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – State Secretary of Belarus' Security Council Andrei Ravkov commented on the support of protests in Belarus from abroad in his Facebook account, BelTA has learned.
“It never fails to amaze me how some ‘dissenters and protesters' passionately admire in their Telegram channels those who wave flags in Lithuania, Poland, the United States and Canada in support of protests in Belarus. I hope it is clear to anyone that this is not an indicator. Those flag wavers, even if they are Belarusians, left their country long time ago, have not done anything for today's Belarus, and they suddenly show their nostalgic ‘patriotism' when asked,” said the state secretary of the Security Council.
“In this regard, my question is to those who are so excited about all those movements abroad: why do not you go and live there, thus vacating your workplaces here, your children's places in kindergarten, reducing the workload on school teachers, a competition among university enrollees and queues to doctors? I am sure I will hear in response: ‘This is our land, native and unique, we do not have to go anywhere!' This is right, this land is ours. Rely on this land rather than imported emotions,” Andrei Ravkov said.
