NUCLEAR POWER IN BELARUS AND WORLDWIDE
MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) - Following the instruction of Chairperson of the Council of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Committee on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, has been appointed coordinator of the group of international observers from the CIS IPA at the referendum on the draft constitutional law “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, BelTA learned from the press service of the Secretariat of the CIS IPA Council.
The CIS IPA Member Parliaments, officials of the CIS IPA member states and experts of the International Institute of Monitoring Democracy Development of the CIS IPA are currently forming a group of observers.
International observers from CIS IPA will participate in monitoring the constitutional referendum at the invitation of Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan Zainiddin Nizamkhodjaev. The referendum in Uzbekistan is scheduled for 30 April.
