Preparations in progress for Belarus-Moldova intergovernmental commission session

MINSK, 7 July (BelTA - Belarus and Moldova are preparing to hold a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a telephone conversion Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Moldova's Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Tulea considered a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, and topical issues on the international agenda.

“The parties highlighted the importance of further development of active meaningful contacts through the foreign ministries and other ministries and discussed the possibility of holding a meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Moldovan commission on trade and economic cooperation in the time frame which will be agreed by the parties additionally,” the press service noted.

Oleg Tulea informed about the appointment of Economy and Infrastructure Minister Sergiu Railean as co-chair of the intergovernmental commission on behalf of Moldova. The minister also highlighted the high level of cooperation between Belarus and Moldova to provide mutual support and overcome the consequences of coronavirus infection.
