
MINSK, 3 May (BelTA) - The House of Representatives hosted a meeting of the organizing committee for the visiting meeting of the CSTO PA Council in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
The web-based event was presided by Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Valery Mitskevich. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Council of the Republic, heads of state bodies and Executive Secretary of the CSTO PA - Head of the CSTO PA Secretariat Sergei Pospelov.
The participants of the event discussed the coordination of actions to deliver the high-quality meeting of the CSTO PA Council.
The visiting meeting of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization will be held in Minsk on 17-18 May.
The meeting is set to consider the status of the decisions of the November (2022) session of the CSTO Collective Security Council, the activities of the state bodies of Belarus to ensure the stability of the socio-political and military situation, countering security challenges and threats in the context of the priorities of the CSTO chairmanship in 2023 and draft statements of the CSTO PA Council on the prevention of an arms race in space and on countering drug abuse among children and young people and promoting healthy lifestyles. The meeting also plans to consider granting the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia the status of a partner of the CSTO PA, on the address of the CSTO PA to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia on granting the CSTO PA the status of a permanent observer at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
