Possible avenues of Belarus' economic cooperation with Faroe Islands discussed

MOSCOW, 6 December (BelTA) – Belarus is in negotiations on possible avenues of economic cooperation with the Faroe Islands. These matters were discussed as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Denmark to the Russian Federation with concurrent accreditation to Belarus Thomas Winkler and the Representative of the Faroe Islands to the Russian Federation Bjorn Kunoy in Moscow on 6 December, the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission told BelTA.

Topical avenues of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade, and economy were discussed. The sides paid close attention to the invigoration of investment cooperation, the expansion of the legal base the bilateral relations rely on, and possible avenues of economic cooperation with the Faroe Islands.

Belarus established diplomatic relations with Denmark in February 1992. Belarus-Denmark trade totaled $94.6 million in 2016.
