Polad Bulbuloglu reelected head of CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Fund

MOSCOW, 19 December (BelTA) – Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu has been reelected Chairman of the Board of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund. The decision was made at a joint board meeting of the fund and the CIS Humanitarian Cooperation Council in Moscow on 18 December, BelTA learned from the press service CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund.

The participants of the meeting approved a list of intergovernmental projects for implementation in 2019 with the support of the CIS Interstate Humanitarian Cooperation Fund. The plan includes both the traditional projects of the fund (the Forum of the Creative and Scientific Intelligentsia, the Stars of the Commonwealth Awards and the Commonwealth of Debuts Awards, the Minsk Initiative integrated project, the school sport festival, the Khachaturian music competition, and others) and projects that will be implemented with the support of the fund for the first time. Among them is the World Festival of the Eposes of the World's Nations, the Gromyko International Competition for Young Experts in International Relations, a school of young chemists, the scientific seminar Rock Culture: Myth, Art, World.

“In connection with the announcement of 2019 the Year of the Book in the CIS the permanent projects of the fund that support book publishing and reading promotion (The Art of the Book contest, the charity event Books as a Gift, the publication of the journal Friendship of Peoples) will be expanded by the training seminar Archives in the Digital Age, the Eurasian Congress of Librarians and the CIS Readers' Assembly. Much attention will be paid to the preparations for the upcoming anniversary of the Victory in 2020. The central event will be the international project Great Victory Won in Unity,” the press service said.

In total, the plan for 2019 includes more than 80 events that will unite representatives of all CIS countries.
