Plans to set up first Belarusian-Hungarian agricultural enterprise in Mogilev Oblast

MINSK, 14 January (BelTA) – The first Belarusian-Hungarian agricultural enterprise, which will use Hungarian technologies for corn processing, will be established in Mogilev Oblast. Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto made the statement after negotiations with Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 14 January, BelTA has learned.

The talks in Minsk touched upon ways to expand cooperation with Belarus in various spheres, including the implementation of joint projects in the area of pharmaceutics. Transportation by rail was also mentioned. For instance, double-decker train cars jointly manufactured by Belarus and Hungary will roll along Hungarian railways as early as this year.

Peter Szijjarto spoke in favor of expanding political and economic interaction between Belarus and Hungary. He mentioned the fact that Hungarians can visit Belarus without visas as important. The minister noted that the Hungarian side gives the largest preferences in visa matters to Belarusians within the framework of the Schengen agreement. Hungary speaks in favor of building up cooperation with the East and the West in politics and economy. Efforts to maintain security and stability in the region are part of the process, Peter Szijjarto noted.

Peter Szijjarto also mentioned Hungary's stance on intensifying cooperation between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union. In his opinion, it represents a good foundation for stronger Belarus-Hungary cooperation.
