MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) - It would be quite natural to see Belarus as part of the BRICS soon, Romenio Pereira, Secretary for International Relations of the Workers' Party of Brazil, told the media ahead of a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives Valery Mitskevich in Minsk on 20 November, BelTA has learned.
"It is a great pleasure for me to be received in the House of Representatives. I think now Belarus and Brazil should interact even more closely and expand cooperation," Romenio Pereira said.
According to him, one of the important areas that the Brazilian leadership is engaged in is strengthening the role of BRICS in the international arena. "With the support of Brazil and four other BRICS countries, six more countries have been admitted to the organization. But there are a dozen other countries that would like to join the BRICS. It would be quite natural to see Belarus as part of BRICS in the near future," Romenio Pereira believes.
