OSCE PA SRG conference in Minsk to highlight investment opportunities of Belt and Road countries

MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – The OSCE PA Silk Road Support Group conference due in Minsk on 29-30 April will discuss ways to enhance investment attractiveness of the countries participating in the Belt and Road initiative.

The head of the Belarusian delegation, Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk informed his colleagues about the format and program of the conference at the fifth meeting of the Silk Road Support Group (SRG) in Vienna on 20 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.

“The event will focus on ways of increasing investment, transit, and tourist attractiveness of the states participating in the initiative,” the press service noted.

The meeting also examined the activities of the group and its plans for 2019.

Moreover, the Belarusian MPs attended the presentation organized by the Austrian MPs dedicated to the group and its activities.

As BelTA has reported earlier, Belarus' parliamentary delegation led by Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives Boleslav Pirshtuk is attending the OSCE PA Silk Road Support Group meeting and the OSCE PA Winter Meeting in Vienna on 20-22 February.

Belarus' representatives will take part in the meeting of the Standing Committee to discuss organizational and procedural matters. The MPs will take part in the meetings of the General Committee on Political Affairs and Security, and the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment. A meeting of heads and members of the parliaments of the CSTO member states will be held on the sidelines of the OSCE PA meeting.
