Opinion: The parliament needs professionals who can address concrete issues

MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) – The parliament needs professionals who can address concrete issues, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko told the media as he cast his vote at polling station No.507 in Minsk as part of the Belarusian parliamentary elections on 17 November, BelTA has learned.

“There should be professionals in the parliament, people with good life experience so that they do not engage in political criticism, but address concrete issues aimed at the development of our country,” said Vladimir Andreichenko.

According to him, the MPs should focus on the priorities of the country's development. These are matters related to employment, ways to increase people's incomes and the country's exports, attract investments. “Once these economic issues are solved, there will be political stability and development in the country,” the chairman of the House of Representatives said.

When asked on his choice, Vladimir Andreichenko explained that he was guided primarily by the achievements of the candidate.

“The elections are a very important public and political event. I think that one should always be guided by common sense when participating in them. We all understand that peace, stability in our society, law and order, sustainable development of the country depend on the person who comes to work in the parliament,” said the chairman of the House of Representatives.
