Opinion: Radicals should not be allowed to take power

MINSK, 19 October (BelTA) – A strong Belarus is not in the interests of those in the West who order color revolutions. A testimony to that is the increasing number of radicals seen on the streets of the capital city. What they need is not a dialogue, but an immediate seizure of power, which should no way be allowed. The changes prompted by the street did not end well after the Maidan revolution, Ukrainian political scientist Yuri Kot told the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA informs.

According to the expert, it is important to realize that all those who are demanding rights and freedoms and are trying to look like good people in white clothes with flowers, “stand ready to break the law every way they want in order to achieve the desired result”.

Yuri Kot noted that radicals should never be allowed to take power. “As soon as they seize power, believe me, these people will hold on to it to the end, as it is happening again in Ukraine. Look at a handful of marginal radicals who pretend to be ‘borscht' or ‘lard' patriots. They are very few, but they intimidate the rest of the population,” he added.
