MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) – By using provocations at the border Poland is trying to punish Belarus for supporting Russia, military expert Anatoly Matviychuk said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“I will now outline three painful points, they are quite bad. This is the special military operation, of course. The second one is Transnistria. If hostilities break out there, Russia will not have a direct access to this place. It will be necessary to conduct a whole special operation in order to reach Transnistria. There is a big ammunition depot in Cobasna. By the way, warehouses appeared there back during the First World War. If, God forbid, someone performs terrorist actions there and they detonate, it will affect everyone, including Belarus, Russia, Ukraine and the adjacent countries. It will be like a small nuclear bomb,” Anatoly Matviychuk said.
The next thing is, of course, the border between Belarus and Poland, the expert continued. “It is a source of constant provocations and weird calls to punish Belarus for something. I don't understand what Poland and Belarus have to do with it. Yet, Poles are trying to punish Belarus for supporting Russia. One more thing is the Northern Sea Route where the interests of Russia and northwestern countries clashed. They are trying to grab this economically attractive tidbit,” he added.
