MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – The president's decision to delegate authority to the Security Council in case of any unforeseen situation is only part of what needs to be done in order to make the state system even steadier for many years to come, BelTA learned from Chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich.
In his opinion, a lot needs to be done as part of the work on updating the Constitution. Oleg Gaidukevich said: “It is necessary to once and for all foreclose any possibility of placing in question the country's fundamental values: the [conventional] family, two state languages, the geopolitical choice, the military union, the government system. Presidential elections have to stop being a stress for the country. In order to make it happen, it is necessary to stipulate such foundations that will not allow any elections to change the basic values of the state and the society. Any possibility of building some kind of a new country from square one must be foreclosed. No destruction must be allowed. As part of the efforts to reinforce the country it is necessary to model and develop the country's political field in a way to rule out any possibility of political activities with foreign funding.”
Oleg Gaidukevich is confident that all of it is particularly important due to the ongoing hybrid war of the West against Belarus and Russia.
