MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran have the potential to expand cooperation, political scientist Aleksandr Shpakovsky said on the air of the Belarus 1 TV channel commenting on the results of the visit of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Iran, BelTA informs.
Much will depend on how the reached agreements will be implemented, said Aleksandr Shpakovsky. “Trade and economic cooperation with Iran has endless potential (which opens up great opportunities for our exporters, and if everything goes well, it will have a positive impact on household incomes in the end),” the political scientist is sure.
Aleksandr Shpakovsky noted that Belarus-Iran trade was small. “It was about $38 million in 2021. However, last year, we managed to almost triple this figure. If we look at the agreements signed by the heads of state, we will see potential to step up cooperation,” the expert concluded.
