MINSK, 21 March (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei on 21 March. The newly appointed head of the Iranian diplomatic mission presented copies of his credentials during the meeting, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Sergei Aleinik and Alireza Sanei discussed concrete steps on stepping up bilateral cooperation, including ways to increase economic interaction. Approaches to joint work on cementing Belarus-Iran relations were agreed.
Close attention was paid to the fulfillment of agreements reached during the recent official visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Iran and to the realization of the roadmap on Belarus-Iran all-round cooperation in 2023-2026. The sides exchanged opinions about interaction and mutual support in international organizations.
