New Belarus-Japan projects discussed

MINSK, 3 December (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Japan Ruslan Yesin met with Governor of Saga Prefecture Yoshinori Yamaguchi, BelTA has learned.

The governor thanked Belarus for supporting residents of Saga Prefecture, who are working to alleviate consequences of a natural calamity that happened in 2019. Yoshinori Yamaguchi also expressed interest in further advancing bilateral interregional interaction.

Apart from that, the governor mentioned that Belarusian flax fabric products are popular among residents of the prefecture, who praise their quality and environmental compatibility.

The ambassador informed the governor about cooperation between Shklov (Mogilev Oblast) and Takeo (Saga Prefecture) within the framework of a previously signed bilateral memorandum. The sides agreed that negotiations that had been held in the cities of Kashima and Tara (both are in Saga Prefecture) open up new opportunities for implementing joint projects in economy, education, culture, and sport.

The Japanese side was informed about the official stance of the Belarusian government on the domestic political situation in the country.
