MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarusians should preserve their sovereign state, Marina Lenchevskaya, a member of the National Security Commission of the House of Representatives of Belarus' National Assembly, told BelTA.
She pointed out that the early days of Belarus' independence was the time “when everything is broken down and something new is built on the ruins”. “I vehemently oppose the repetition of this scenario. The present youth might not remember this, but at that time the authorities took all the necessary measures to stabilize the situation. Today the only way is to preserve what we have created – a sovereign state,” she noted.
Marina Lenchevskaya stressed that Belarus is a strong, sovereign, developing state. The country's leadership sees the problems and addresses them. “There should be positive changes. This is normal. Any society cannot stand still. It should move forward and develop," the MP concluded.
