MP: Belarus will host two out of five new events of Union State

MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) - The budget of the Union State is a unique tool of the integration association, Chairwoman of the Standing Budget and Finance Commission of the House of Representatives, Deputy Chairwoman of the Parliamentary Assembly Commission on Budget, Taxes and Financial Market Lyudmila Nizhevich told BelTA.

She recalled that the budget of the Union State for 2023 in terms of revenues is set in the amount of RUB5966.0 million, in terms of expenses - RUB5066.5 million. The budget provides for financing, among other things, of 4 programs and 33 activities. "The purpose of the events is to further the cooperation in the field of culture, science and patriotic education of the youth of the participating states and the preservation of the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War. Five new ones are planned for 2023: the cultural and educational patriotic project "The Memory Train", "Union State celebrates the Kupala Day", the historical and legal project "The Future of Law and Order" for the children of employees of the internal affairs bodies of Belarus and Russia, the forum "Russia and Belarus: Shared History, Shared Destiny” and a forum of engineering and technical universities. Two of these events will be held in Belarus," the MP said.

The deepening of integration between Belarus and Russia is a response to the hybrid war on the part of the West and attempts to separate the two peoples. Close cooperation between the two countries makes it possible to ensure social stability and the well-being of citizens, to protect their interests. In 2023, integration within the framework of the Union State will be aimed at creating single markets in industry, construction, agriculture and transport, removing barriers to mutual trade and approximation of social guarantees - from medicine and education to pensions and benefits. "The MPs of Belarus and Russia consider the Union State budget as one of the sources for the formation of a single scientific and technological space in the interests of the national economies of the two states. Therefore, in 2022, the MPs of the two countries paid special attention to improving the regulatory framework of the Union State in the fiscal and financial sphere," Lyudmila Nizhevich said.

She also noted that of the 28 Union State programs, about half provide for the harmonization of legislation in financial and audit activities. This includes the creation of the common financial market, the regulation of certain issues of the banking sector, the harmonization of requirements in the field of combating the laundering of proceeds from crime, the approximation of civil legislation and the defining of the basis for the creation of the property of the Union State.
