MINSK, 6 October (BelTA) – The 28th session of the Consultative Council of Heads of Consular Services of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the CIS states took place in Minsk on 6 October. Representatives of Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the CIS Executive Committee took part in the videoconference session, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.
Participants of the session discussed problems with fulfilling provisions of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of 22 January 1993 and bilateral consular conventions. Cooperation within the framework of conventions on legal aid and legal relations in civil cases, family cases, and criminal cases of 22 January 1993 (Minsk) and 7 October 2002 (Chisinau) was discussed. The importance of embracing online interactions was noted.
The next session is supposed to take place in Minsk in H1 2022 under Kazakhstan's presidency.
