MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – Deputy foreign ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states gathered in Minsk for consultations on 30 May, BelTA has learned.

The consultations are being held in the run-up to the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council meeting that is due to take place in Minsk on 19-20 June. The Belarusian delegation at the consultations is led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yuri Ambrazevich.

According to him, the ongoing meeting is a good opportunity to exchange views and compare notes on topical issues of interaction in the CSTO and on the international arena, as well as to discuss development prospects of the organization.

“This format of consultations that was proposed by Belarus last year is an important part of preparations for the meetings of the CSTO Foreign Ministers Council and the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council that also allow comparing notes of the organization's member states on topical issues on the international agenda. The parties will exchange views on what to do next to promote the CSTO dialogue with other international organizations (UN, CIS, SCO), discuss ways to build up the analytical potential of the organization and its member states,” BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
