Makei: Tax maneuver compensation still on Belarus-Russia agenda

MINSK, 21 November (BelTA) – The issue related to the tax maneuver compensation is still high on the agenda, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told the media following the joint meeting of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 21 November, BelTA has learned.

According to the minister, the September meeting of the presidents of Belarus and Russia added momentum to the efforts to solve the problematic issues in the relations of the two countries. Some of them, however, still remain on the agenda. “These include the settlement of the issue related to the tax maneuver and oil production in Russia, and the efforts to make our trade more balanced. In January-September our exports inched up by as little as 0.6% while imports soared by 22%,” said Vladimir Makei.

He added that these issues will be discussed at the forthcoming meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in December 2018.

“We are glad to see mutual sincere determination to address the matter,” the diplomat said.
