MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – The exchange of visits between Belarus and Syria allows restoring the level of relations the two countries had before the Syrian crisis, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with Walid al Muallem, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, on 22 July, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian minister welcomed progress in the political dialogue between the two countries and pointed to close friendly contacts between the two heads of state and the two nations. “Belarus sets great store by promoting friendly relations with Syria and these relations get stronger every year,” he emphasized.
In his words, the endurance and value of these relations have been proved by time.
The foreign minister noted that the two heads of state hold similar or the same stance on many issues of the international agenda.
Vladimir Makei expressed confidence that the visit of the high-ranking Syrian official will contribute to even closer contacts with Syria.More about Politics
