MINSK, 23 July (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleg Kravchenko is on a working visit to Brussels (Belgium) on 23-24 July, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“On 23 July Oleg Kravchenko took part in the extraordinary meeting of the Belarus-EU Coordination Group as head of Belarus' delegation. The delegation of the European Union was led by Luc Devigne, Acting Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service. Taking part in the event were representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Commission and the European External Action Service.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of Belarus-EU relations, Belarus' participation in the Eastern Partnership initiative, cooperation in nuclear safety, human rights, including in the context of the ongoing presidential campaign in Belarus, as well as European Union's assistance in overcoming the aftermath of the coronavirus infection in Belarus.
On the same day Oleg Kravchenko met with EU Special Representative for Human Rights Eamon Gilmore. In the focus of the meeting was Belarus presidential election. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining contacts in the field of human rights.
