
MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) - The CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly contributes to the maintenance of peace and security on the Eurasian continent, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at the 56th plenary session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly in Bishkek on 17 November, BelTA has learned.
“We can state that the activities of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly contribute to the development of comprehensive cooperation between our countries and peoples, maintenance of peace and security on the Eurasian continent,” Natalya Kochanova said.
According to the speaker, in the current geopolitical realities, when the unipolar system of the world order is going through its sunset and multipolar order is being formed, when the struggle for supremacy in the new hierarchy is toughening, when those who think they are the masters of the fate of all mankind are trying to hold on to the rapidly slipping dominance at any cost, the importance of the CIS IPA mission is increasing.
“By the example of our fruitful cooperation, we tell the world that sovereignty, independent development in accordance with our national interests and joint development of common strategies of interaction are the basis of a new paradigm of life,” Natalya Kochanova emphasized. “Only de-escalation of existing conflicts, solidarity and mutual support will let us cope with the challenges of modernity and guarantee the right of present and next generations to the future.”
