Kochanova: Belarus and Oman enjoy good, friendly relations

MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) - Belarus and Oman have good and friendly relations, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she met with the parliamentary delegation of the Sultanate of Oman on 29 May, BelTA has learned.

“Our countries, Belarus and Oman, have good and friendly relations. In 2022 we celebrated 30 years of diplomatic relations. First of all, these are good relations between our heads of state,” Natalya Kochanova said. “I am sincerely glad to have this meeting, because MPs of our countries need to communicate and be friends, and I am sure that your visit will open a new page in our relations and will lead to even closer interaction in the trade and economic sector, culture and, most importantly, parliamentary relations. Parliamentary cooperation is very important to us. We have a parliamentary friendship group with Oman, just as you have a friendship group with Belarus in your parliament.

According to the speaker, the two countries have good prospects for trade and economic cooperation. “So far we have had very modest results. But at the same time, despite the sanctions pressure on our country, Belarus is developing successfully, enterprises, organizations and institutions continue working. You will be able to see that. We have prepared an interesting program for you. You will see how our enterprises and educational institutions work. I think you will discover Belarus if you are here for the first time,” the chairperson of the Council of the Republic said.
