Hungarian Prime Minister Orban arrives in Belarus on official visit

MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) - Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has arrived in Belarus on an official visit, BelTA has learned.

The program of the visit includes a meeting with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko in the Palace of Independence.

Aleksandr Lukashenko and Viktor Orban are expected to discuss trade and economic cooperation, and the implementation of joint projects. Belarus and Hungary have made great progress in bilateral relations, however, the potential in expanding cooperation in various areas is still hugely untapped.

The parties are also set to discuss cooperation between Belarus and the EU, including within the Eastern Partnership format. The talks will also touch upon the situation in the region and worldwide, and approaches to addressing the most urgent issues.

This visit is the first official visit of the Hungarian top official to Belarus and will become an important milestone in the development of the Belarusian-Hungarian relations.
