Golovchenko expects issues on Belarusian-Russian agenda to be addressed

MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – The situation itself pushes Belarus and Russia towards addressing all the issues on the agenda. Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko made the statement in front of reporters before negotiations of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and President of Russia Vladimir Putin began in Minsk on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko said: “The delegations have been preparing for the talks, including the Belarusian delegation and the Russian one. As a matter of principle, variants have been prepared with regard to the pricing of the gas Belarus buys. I am convinced that the leaders of our countries will choose one of them today. We have a positive attitude. And we believe that the situation itself pushes us towards addressing the few lingering debatable issues. They are not even problems.”

Belarus and Russia move along the path of Union State integration, Roman Golovchenko continued. “We are realizing the measures stipulated by programs. Not even energy resources are very important for us now. They are fine. This matter is a bit commercial, so to say. The production sector, prompt measures to develop the production sector of the Union State are what matters for us. We have to protect our common market from, first, unjustified import and realize joint integration projects in the production sector. Because the economic security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is the keynote that determines the future of the union,” he added.
