MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - The Minsk process to settle the conflict in Ukraine needs a new impetus. A Normandy four videoconference meeting will be held next week, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas informed, TASS reported.

Heiko Maas said he recently had conversations with the French, Russian and Ukrainian counterparts. “We agreed, and I am happy about it, to hold a videoconference meeting of the Normandy Four at the level of foreign ministers, and this conference will be held next week,” the German foreign minister said.

On 9 December 2019, Paris hosted a regular summit of the Normandy Four countries (Russia, Germany, France, Ukraine). Back then the presidents expressed their commitment to establishing a full-fledged truce in the Donbass by the end of 2019, and also advocated changes to the Constitution of Ukraine based on the Steinmeier formula. The final communique of the summit also emphasized that there was no non-alternative to the Minsk accord
