MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Foreign leaders are sending congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on the victory in the 2020 Belarus presidential election which took place on 9 August.

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping was the first to send a message of greetings to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulating him on the victory in the presidential election, BelTA has learned.

“On behalf of the Chinese government, Chinese people and myself I would like to express my congratulations and best regards. I am convinced that under your leadership Belarus will certainly reach new heights in state building,” the message reads.

Xi Jinping noted that in recent years Belarus and China have been successfully promoting strategic partnership. According to him, China and Belarus are brothers and all-weather partners. “Cooperation with Belarus is very important for me. I value good working relations and personal friendship with you,” the Chinese leader underlined.

He reaffirmed his determination to make every effort, together with the Belarusian head of state, to promote comprehensive and strategic partnership between Belarus and China and to explore new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas in the interests of the two states and peoples.

Xi Jinping wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health and successes in his work. He wished Belarus prosperity and its people happiness and well-being.

Putin congratulates Lukashenko on re-election

MOSCOW, 10 August (BelTA) – Russia President Vladimir Putin has sent a letter of greetings to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to congratulate him on re-election, BelTA learned from the press service of the Kremlin.

“I hope that your state activity will help enhance mutually beneficial Russian-Belarusian relations across the board, advance cooperation in the Union State, promote integration processes in the Eurasian Economic Space and the CIS as well as the military and political ties in the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Of course, it meets the fundamental interests of the brotherly nations of Russia and Belarus,” Vladimir Putin's message of greetings reads.

Kazakhstan president congratulates Lukashenko on re-election

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has sent a telegram to Aleksandr Lukashenko to congratulate him on re-election as Belarus president, BelTA learned from the website of the Kazakhstani leader.

“Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has extended congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on his re-election as President of the Republic of Belarus. The result of the election, which was held in a complicated political situation, proves the people's support of your strategic course aimed at strengthening of the sovereignty and independence of Belarus,” the telegram reads.

The Kazakhstani leader expressed confidence that mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Belarus would continue developing for the benefit of the peoples of the two states.

The president of Kazakhstan wished Aleksandr Lukashenko the fulfillment of the plans at the post of the head of state and also peace, stability, mutual understanding and wellbeing to the Belarusian people.

Azerbaijan president congratulates Lukashenko on re-election by telephone

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev on the initiative of the Azerbaijani side on 10 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

Ilham Aliyev congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on a convincing victory at the presidential election and extended the best wishes to him. He emphasized that Azerbaijan values friendly relations with the government of brotherly Belarus.

“The heads of state discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, cooperation in integration associations and international organizations. The presidents expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries will be increasingly vibrant in the political, economic, cultural and other fields,” the press release of the press service reads.

Uzbekistan president: High turnout and vote result show people's trust in Lukashenko

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on the victory in the 2020 Belarus presidential election, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The high turnout and the result of the vote have once again demonstrated the huge trust of the Belarusian people in you, its unity and support of effective reforms conducted under your leadership and aimed at enhancing the level and quality of people's life, securing sustainable economic growth in the country,” the president of Uzbekistan stressed.

He also hailed rapidly developing multi-pronged cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus, which is traditionally based on strong ties of friendship between our countries and peoples, mutual respect and support.

“I am confident that further practical implementation of the agreements at the highest level will expand the bilateral relations with important projects of cooperation in economic sectors and programs of humanitarian exchange,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

He wished Aleksandr Lukashenko strong health, wellbeing and new success, and also peace and prosperity to the people of Belarus.

Rahmon congratulates Lukashenko on winning presidential election

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko had a telephone conversation with Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon on 10 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“According to the Tajikistani leader, since early morning he's been receiving numerous congratulations on the victory of his Belarusian friend at the presidential election. The people of Tajikistan sincerely congratulates Belarus and its president,” the press release of the press service reads.

Emomali Rahmon extended the best wishes and pledged support to Aleksandr Lukashenko.

In a telephone conversation the presidents also discussed the development of bilateral relations, mentioned versatile cooperation between Minsk and Dushanbe, and praised the open and trust-based nature of interaction across the board.

MOSCOW, 11 August (BelTA) – Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill congratulated Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko on re-election, reads a message posted on the website of the Moscow Patriarchate, BelTA has learned.

Vietnam's President Nguyen Phu Trong has congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on re-election, BelTA has learned.

Nguyen Phu Trong noted that Vietnam is happy about successes achieved by Belarusian people under the leadership of Aleksandr Lukashenko and about the country's higher standing on the international arena.

“It is very important for Vietnam to promote and strengthen friendship and multilateral cooperation with Belarus. We would like to maintain close cooperation for the successful implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union. We would also like to boost bilateral trade and expand cooperation in investment, thus taking Belarus-Vietnam relations to a higher level,” the message reads.
