FM: Zimbabwe and Belarus have great relations, big prospects in trade, investment

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) - Belarus and Zimbabwe enjoy excellent relations, which are growing stronger, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe Frederick Shava told the media after the meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Aleinik in Minsk on 27 March, BelTA has learned.

Frederick Shava emphasized the importance of the historic visit of President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Zimbabwe this year.

Following the state visit of the Belarusian president to Zimbabwe, the government approved the roadmap for the implementation of the reached agreements. The document includes 65 events in various areas: political and diplomatic, trade and economic, agricultural, military and technical, healthcare and medical science, investments, energy, equipment supplies and maintenance. Belarus will also continue its participation in the program to modernize and mechanize agriculture in Zimbabwe.

Frederick Shava said that he came to Belarus at the invitation of Sergei Aleinik, adding that this visit would build on the momentum given by Aleksandr Lukashenko's historic visit to Zimbabwe. “We are happy to confirm the excellent relations between our countries, which continue to grow stronger,” the minister said.
