MINSK, 21 February (BelTA) – Belarus keeps working with its European partners on the agreements on visa facilitation and readmission, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters commenting on plans to increase the Schengen visa fee up to €80, BelTA has learned.
Speaking about these agreements, Vladimir Makei emphasized that the Belarusian side is facing some obstacles, but is working to remove them.
He noted: “The history of Belarus' foreign policy and foreign economic activity suggests that if we saw that some problems represented a really insurmountable obstacle, the Belarusian side was always ready for a compromise.”
As BelTA reported earlier, in line with the Belarus-EU draft agreement on visa facilitation and readmission, the Schengen visa fee for Belarusians might be reduced to €35.
