
MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Sergei Aleinik thanked Joanna Kazana-Wisniowiecki for her active work as the UN Resident Coordinator in Belarus and wished her further success in her professional work, and also expressed hope for the continued positive achievements by the UN Country Team in Belarus.
The parties noted the high level of cooperation between Belarus and the United Nations and its main agencies and foundations, primarily in the implementation of joint projects and programs in sustainable development, and also exchanged views on the results and prospects for the UN Office in the Republic of Belarus.
The minister of foreign affairs reaffirmed Belarus' commitment to implementing the 2030 Agenda by the scheduled date, despite a number of negative trends in the multilateral agenda that threaten the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by the states, including the policy of sanctions and unilateral coercive measures.
