MOSCOW, 16 March (BelTA) - Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Dmitry Krutoi met with Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Russian Federation and concurrently to the Republic of Belarus Juan Fernando Holguin Flores in Moscow on 15 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
"The parties discussed ways to expand Belarusian-Ecuadorian cooperation, interaction in multilateral organizations, and exchanged views on topical international issues. Ambassador Dmitry Krutoi and Juan Fernando Holguin Flores agreed to intensify dialogue in the political, economic and humanitarian matters and to hold events to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, which Belarus and Ecuador will celebrate in May 2023," the press service said.
The Belarusian ambassador invited the Ecuadorian side to implement joint projects in agricultural mechanization, infrastructure development, mining, bio- and information technologies. He noted that Belarus produces a wide range of equipment for various sectors of the economy, and drew attention to the importance of establishing contacts between business communities to give impetus to trade and economic ties.
The Ecuadorian ambassador highlighted the friendly nature of relations between the two countries and stated his readiness to promote mutual trade. The diplomat expressed interest in continuing cooperation in education and further training of Ecuadorian students in Belarusian universities.
"Belarus and Ecuador reaffirmed the commitment to the principles of sovereign equality, non-interference in the internal affairs of states and the peaceful resolution of any conflicts. The Ecuadorian ambassador praised the efforts of the leadership of the Republic of Belarus aimed at maintaining international peace and security," the press service stressed.
"Dmitry Krutoi and Juan Fernando Holguin Flores agreed to promote Belarusian-Ecuadorian cooperation in all areas," the Belarusian Embassy added.
