
MOSCOW, 3 February (BelTA) - The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the CIS Executive Committee have approved the action plan for 2023-2025 to implement the memorandum on deepening cooperation. The document was signed by Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Mikhail Myasnikovich and CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev in Almaty on 3 February, the EEC press service told BelTA.
“The plan provides for the implementation of joint projects and activities. It pays special attention to elimination of existing barriers in mutual trade, development of cooperation in implementation of large-scale joint projects and digitalization of economy. The document also envisages consultations to develop approaches to align the EAEU law and the CIS legal framework, including the elimination of contradictions between draft regulations developed in the EAEU and the CIS,” the EEC said.
The document is designed to promote the involvement of young people, public associations and business communities in the processes of functioning of the EAEU and CIS, to increase the transparency of the work of the two structures and raise citizens' awareness of the essence of economic integration processes.
The memorandum on deepening cooperation between the EEC and the CIS Executive Committee was signed on 27 November 2018. It provides for cooperation in the areas of customs regulations, traceability and marking of goods with identification means, state procurement, consumer protection, digital economy, tax policy and administration, foreign trade, competition policy and antimonopoly regulation, as well as sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary quarantine measures.
