Draft Eurasian integration strategy 2025 to be approved on 19 May

MOSCOW, 15 May (BelTA) - The draft strategy for further development of Eurasian integration until 2025 has passed the necessary procedures. The document is expected to be approved by the presidents of the states members of the Eurasian Economic Union on 19 May, Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mikhail Myasnikovich said at the videoconference international forum “Assisting the Eurasian Economic Integration: a business cooperation factor”, BelTA has learned.

“The draft has passed the necessary procedures in due course,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said. “It is on the agenda of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which is scheduled for 19 May. The document contains mainly the directly applicable regulations and the provisions that can be successfully integrated into national acts. Why do I pay special attention to this? Because there are quite a lot of serious documents that are aimed at strengthening the integration processes, but there is a certain gap between the political will when decisions are made, and national legislations,” Mikhail Myasnikovich noted.

The list of measures and mechanisms (330 positions) laid down in the document is in fact a roadmap for further development of integration. It provides for further development and signing of 13 international treaties, more than 60 EAEU regulations, introducing about 25 changes and additions to the EAEU Treaty, and the changes to the national laws of the EAEU member states.
