Damascus to host next meeting of Belarus-Syria intergovernmental commission

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Syrian intergovernmental commission will next meet in Damascus, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Syria Walid Al Muallem told the media after his meeting with Belarus' Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

The agreement to hold the meeting in Damascus next month was reached during the talks in Minsk. Walid Al Muallem hailed the results of the meetings with Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. The Syrian guest said that the range of issues discussed in Minsk was extensive and named the talks fruitful.

He thanked Belarus for its support to Syria, including in hosting Syrian children for recuperation holidays and expressed hope that the initiative would be continued.
