MINSK, 23 June (BelTA) – China and Belarus are always ready to support each other, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus, Doctor of Philosophy Cui Qiming said at the 5th Belarusian People's Congress on 22 June, BelTA has learned.
He emphasized the importance of last year's mutual visits of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko which resulted in a new strategic action plan to maintain mutually beneficial ties and add impetus to the Belarusian-Chinese all-round cooperation. “The agreement of friendship and cooperation between China and Belarus that was signed by the two heads of state has strengthened the friendly mutual trust and cooperation between China and Belarus. We stay committed to the concept and principles of mutual respect, equal cooperation, and mutual benefit which are fundamental for long-term sustainable development of strategic cooperation between our countries. China and Belarus support each other in the issues of key mutual interests,” the diplomat stressed.
In his words, the joint construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and cooperation in the production sector have become important parts of Belarus-China pragmatic cooperation. Dozens of big projects have closely linked China and Belarus and the peoples of the two countries. The two countries have been implementing the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park project. “China always views Belarus as a sincere friend and reliable partner. The countries are always ready to trust and support each other,” Cui Qiming said.
The diplomat also touched upon China's development: “China has been rapidly developing its social and economic sector and has already achieved universal recognition. The world economy is currently undergoing profound alterations, with all the countries changing their development strategy, introducing structural reforms. ”
This year for China is the start of the country's 13th five-year period. At the current People's Congress Belarus will consider and adopt its social and economic development program for the next five years. China and Belarus are strongly linked and widely similar in their social and economic development strategies. China will continue its all-round reforms, staying committed to such development concepts as innovations, succession, environmental friendliness, openness and social support and business initiative and entrepreneurial spirit. Today Belarus is developing a new economic development strategy adjusting to the current changes in the international arena.
“In his speech Alexander Lukashenko made the focus on the development of the human capital and innovative strategy. China is ready to continue strengthening cooperation with Belarus and integrate the development strategies of the two countries, share successful reform experience in order to advance the Chinese-Belarusian relations and cooperation in different areas for the benefit of the two countries and their people,” the Chinese Ambassador said.
